If it should be that I grow frail and weak

And pain does keep me from my sleep,

We have had so many happy years,

You wouldn't want me to suffer so.

Although my tail its last has waved,

From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must now be you

We've been so close - we two -these years,

Don't let your heart hold any tears.

This wonderful male moved to Lapland in 2010 when he was about 2.5 years old. Laku was a very social and brave dog and new situations and things did not make Laku nervous. According to the character test result, Laku was "reasonably tough". Laku loved swimming and went into the water in all kinds of weather, even in the icy water. Swimming was very effortless and quick thanks to the long limbs and webbed feet. Laku worked as a gun dog. Laku passed a spaniel ability test and worked in the forest. Laku was even such a helpful gentleman that he went to help other hunters when the ducks had fallen into more difficult spots. No duck has been left unnoticed by Laku. During his veteran days, Laku passed the SPME water work test in the summer of 2018 and the judge chose Laku as the best dog in the test. Laku was also interested in rabbits and chased them with a bark. The gentleman also enjoyed the gun dog tracking experiment and achieved two AVO1 results. Laku also liked to perform at dog shows and achieved many titles. In 2015, Laku was the show Barbet of the year. Laku had group results and a BIS 3 result. In 2016, Laku popped in the veteran class and was the most beautiful veteran in the whole show (BIS veteran). We ended our show career with Laku from the top :) In addition to the hobbies, Laku liked to suck and cuddle with soft toys and enjoyed soaking on the couch and in the arms of the master. Laku did not realize that he was a big boy and weighed 31 kg.

To our great sadness we brought Laku to the Rainbow bridge on August 7, 2020.

Laku was our first Barbet that ignited our love to the Barbet breed. A wonderful dog that left a big hole in our hearts. Thanks to Laku, I am still enthusiastic about the Barbets as a hobby and I can continue breeding them. Not a day goes by that Laku is not in our minds and memories. Laku really was an amazing dog.

Laku's lifestyle: Take it easy, don't stress. Put on your reggae hat and take your mojito in your paw, the stress goes away and your worries are forgotten!
